Most gardens have the same fence: concrete posts with a wooden panel slotted in between. Cheap to buy, and from the day it goes in, it is your job. Treat both sides every 12 to 18 months, or it warps, rots and rattles anyway, because the panel has to sit loose in the post to expand and shrink.
Then, one night, the wind gets up and there it is, flat on the lawn. And you buy it again.

A trained surveyor comes out, measures the whole area, talks you through the styles and colours and gives you an accurate written price with everything included. Then he leaves. No sitting at your table, no discount that expires when he walks out of the door, no follow-up hounding.
